Equipment
Here's what you need to effectively train in TKD:
| |
Uniform
The first item you need is a uniform. Choices in uniform vary in
terms of material quality. A uniform typically costs about £30
- £70

Body Protectors
The next piece of equipment you should then get are the body protectors.
This comes in handy during sparring sessions. Typical costs are
£30 - £40

Shoes
Shoes are purely optional but will save your feet from a lot of
wear and tear. Note that shoes are not allowed to be worn during
competitions. Typical costs are £25 - £60

Arm guards
Arm guards are useful for blocking against kicks. Costs are £20

Shin guards
are definitely recommended. There will be many times when you and
your opponent kick at the same time and clash legs. Costs around
£20

Helmets
Helmets are compulsory in competition. Costs around £20

Groin protectors
Groin protectors are also compulsory during competition. Costs around
£25
Mouth
guards
Mouth guards are a must during competition as well. A cheap one
costs around £2, and for more comfort and customisation, a
good one can set you back £15-25
Target
pads
Target pads are used for practicing your kicks with. It's handy
to have your own one so that you can practice on them in your spare
time, all you need are these target pads and someone to hold them.
